How Do You Test a Fuse?

Turn off main power to the hot tub. Set the meter to OHMS. Place the probes on each side of the fuse. If your meter shows full continuity, fuse is fine. If your meter doesn't change reading, replace fuse.

Shown is a glass onboard fuse. You can have fuses that you can't see through of different sizes. The above test will test them all. Do NOT trust the glass view to determine if the fuse is blown.

Lastly, fuses blow for different reasons. The 2 major ones you need to be concern with are surges and motor. Surges can happen any time. Replacement of fuse usually solves. Fuse blown by motors almost always require replacement of the offending motor.
